What is Phensedyl Cough Linctus?

Phensedyl Cough Linctus Syrup is used for Common cold, Cough, Allergy, Hay fever, Watery eyes, Itchy throat/skin and other conditions. Phensedyl Cough Linctus Syrup contains Chlorpheniramine and Codeine as active ingredients. Phensedyl Cough Linctus Syrup works by blocking H1-receptor sites on tissues; broken down by the liver into morphine.


Phensedyl Cough Linctus Syrup Uses

Phensedyl Cough Linctus Syrup is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms:

  • Common cold
  • Cough
  • Allergy
  • Hay fever
  • Watery eyes
  • Itchy throat/skin
  • Anaphylactic shock
  • Relief of mild to moderately severe pain


Phensedyl Cough Linctus Syrup Working, Mechanism of Action and Pharmacology


Phensedyl Cough Linctus Syrup improves the patient's condition by performing the following functions:

  • Blocking H1-receptor sites on tissues.
  • Broken down by the liver into morphine.


Phensedyl Cough Linctus Syrup - Composition and Active Ingredients


Phensedyl Cough Linctus Syrup is composed of the following active ingredients (salts)

  • Chlorpheniramine - 4 MG
  • Codeine - 10 MG


Phensedyl Cough Linctus Syrup - Side-effects


The following is a list of possible side-effects that may occur from all constituting ingredients of Phensedyl Cough Linctus Syrup. This is not a comprehensive list. Phensedyl Cough Linctus Syrup - Precautions & How to Use


Before using Phensedyl Cough Linctus Syrup, inform your doctor about your current list of medications, over the counter products (e.g. vitamins, herbal supplements, etc.), allergies, pre-existing diseases, and current health conditions (e.g. pregnancy, upcoming surgery, etc.). Some health conditions may make you more susceptible to the side-effects of the drug. Take as directed by your doctor or follow the direction printed on the product insert.   • Acute pancreatitis

Phensedyl Cough Linctus Syrup - Contraindications


Hypersensitivity to Phensedyl Cough Linctus Syrup is a contraindication. In addition, Phensedyl Cough Linctus Syrup should not be used if you have the following conditions:

  • Acute or severe bronchial asthma
  • Hypercarbia
  • Hypersensitivity
  • Hypersensitivity to codeine
  • Paralytic ileus
  • Postoperative pain management in children who have undergone tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy
