Remotiv is used in the treatment of:
· Mild to moderate depression
· Anxiety, nervous tension and irritability
· Stress
· Insomnia
· Safety and Efficacy
St John’s Wort preparations may cause photosensitization (increased sensitivity to the sun and sunburn). At the recommended dosage, however, there have been no reports of photosensitivity with Remotiv.
St John’s Wort may lower plasma concentrations of indinavir, cyclosporin, warfarin, digoxin, theophylline and anticonvulsants. Due to the very low content of hyperforin (the constituent of St John’s Wort responsible for drug interactions) in Remotiv these interactions have not been reported in clinical use.
Warnings
Always read the label. Use only as directed. If symptoms persist, or the condition recurs, it is important to speak with a healthcare professional. Unless advised by a health care professional, Remotiv should not be taken during pregnancy or by breastfeeding mothers, due to lack of clinical evidence in these patient groups.
Directions
Adults: 1 tablet morning and evening An improvement is usually seen within 1 to 2 weeks of starting Remotiv, though it may take 2 to 4 weeks to achieve the full effect. Remotiv is recommended for a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks and ongoing therapy may be appropriate.
